Check out Stephen O'Connor's latest book, The Witch at Rivermouth. In this novel, O'Connor tells the story of Nestor McCorley and his wife, Minerva, who, despite differences in religious values, are content and ready to start a family. Pregnant with their child, Minerva is attending church when she encounters a woman who puts a curse on her. In the following weeks, Minerva is subjected to strange occurrences that make her uneasy and lead her to believe that the curse is real. Concerned for his wife and unborn child, Nestor consults with a priest to investigate further.
Stephen O'Connor is a native of Lowell and the author of a collection of short stories, Smokestack Lightning, as well as the novel, The Spy in the City of Books. He is praised for his short story writing, including "Work, Music and Love," which, in 2015, won Helen: A Literary Magazine's contest for best short story. Both The Which at Rivermouth and Smokestack Lightning are available at <loompress.com>.
