Immigrant Voices from a Mill City
Immigrants, refugees, border security--all subjects that appear in the news every day. Read the personal stories of newcomers to Lowell, Mass. in the Loom Press-published book, The Big Move: Immigrant Voices from a Mill City, edited by UMass Lowell professors Robert Forrant and Christoph Strobel. The editors explore the history of immigration in Lowell, by providing a variety of firsthand perspectives from immigrants over the years. The book, which was part of a larger project funded by the Lowell National Historical Park, is a testament to how Lowell's diversity has greatly contributed to its vibrant culture.
