A powerful sequence of poems based on the experiences of a young woman, a refugee from the "killing fields" of Cambodia who resettled in the United States in 1981. The poems in this chapbook delve into her life and culture in Southeast Asia and trace her journey to America. The author, her husband, writes about their marriage and daily life among the Cambodians of Lowell, Mass., which has the second largest Cambodian community in the United States.
